Isoke Baptiste is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She started her career working as a Clinical Vascular Nurse in 2012 at The George Washington University, where she completed a Master of Science in Nursing and a Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing, both with academic honors. During her MSN program, she was the recipient of the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Traineeship Award for two years in a row. Upon gaining experience in Vascular Surgery, Preventative Medicine, Women's Health, and Psychiatry, Isoke found her calling in advocacy and mental health, when, as a Nurse Practitioner consultant, she passionately fought for patients’ right to the best care in The Department of Disability Services, DC Government during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Isoke recognizes the role systems play in our internal worlds, the stories we tell about ourselves, and the lives we lead, which is why she prioritizes patient education, equal access and personalized care. As a single mom, an inherent caregiver, constant gardener and a human above all else, she is gifted at seeing the full humanity in people and believes in your worthiness. She constantly works to remind you that you are not alone, that you matter, that healing is a journey, only possible through candid, collaborative dialogue. In her free time, you can find Isoke taking a walk with her lovely dog, Tiegen, sharing playful jokes and laughs with her seven siblings, or spending tranquil time in her evergreen garden - feeding the soil, planting seeds, watering flowers or harvesting crops either physically, spiritually or mentally.
